Repair escrow is provided for FHA insured financing and required only if pursuing an FHA insured loan. It allows out-of-pocket expenses to be reimbursed by the lender who rolls them into your loan. It does not affect your offer amount to HUD but adds to your total loan amount. With a repair escrow account, you are financing repairs to be made after move-in as a requirement of the loan.
